Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Psalms
Psalm 142

A Contemplation of David.
A Prayer when he was in the cave.

1. I cry out to the LORD with my voice;
With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication.
2. I pour out my complaint before Him;
I declare before Him my trouble.

3. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me,
Then You knew my path.
In the way in which I walk
They have secretly set a snare for me.
4. Look on my right hand and see,
For there is no one who acknowledges me;
Refuge has failed me;
No one cares for my soul.

5. I cried out to You, O LORD:
I said, “You are my refuge,
My portion in the land of the living.
6. Attend to my cry,
For I am brought very low;
Deliver me from my persecutors,
For they are stronger than I.
7. Bring my soul out of prison,
That I may praise Your name;
The righteous shall surround me,
For You shall deal bountifully with me.”

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Blessed and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
How Magnificent,
How Holy,
How Sanctified and Glorious!
When I Awake in the Morning,
You Are There.
All through the day,
You Are With me.
And When I go to Sleep at Night,
You Are Still Watching Over Us All.
For You Neither Slumber Nor Sleep.

1. I cry out to the LORD with my voice;
With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication.
2. I pour out my complaint before Him;
I declare before Him my trouble.
I love You, LORD,
because You have heard My voice and my supplications.
Because You Have inclined Your ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon You as long as I live.

3. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me,
Then You knew my path.
In the way in which I walk
They have secretly set a snare for me.
4. Look on my right hand and see,
For there is no one who acknowledges me;
Refuge has failed me;
No one cares for my soul.
How Wonderful You Are!
Although You Are The Creator,
The Great Designer of The Galaxies,
The Omnipotent Master of The Universe,
You Hear my Voice!
How We Love You, LORD!
For even when it seems that nobody is listening,
You Are There,
And You Will Never Fail Your Beloved.

5. I cried out to You, O LORD:
I said, “You are my refuge,
My portion in the land of the living.
6. Attend to my cry,
For I am brought very low;
Deliver me from my persecutors,
For they are stronger than I.
7. Bring my soul out of prison,
That I may praise Your name;
The righteous shall surround me,
For You shall deal bountifully with me.”
Abba Father, We Pray For the Latter Rain To Drench Israel.
We Pray For the Winter Rains,
So late This Year,
To Burst Through The Skies,
And Quench The Fires of Destruction
That Are Ravaging Your Holy Land.
We Stand In Agreement Together,
Jew and Gentile,
Here and Now in this Garden,
For The Sake of Your Name,
And According to Your Will and Your Promise.
We Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel,
and For Our our Beloved America.

The battle is still raging and the most powerful weapon will be used until ordered to cease.
Psalm 94
God the Avenger of the Righteous
1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?
4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7 and they say, ‘The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.’
8 Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?
9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who disciplines the nations,
he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11 The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.
12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.
Heavenly Father may you continue to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation, may you smash every crooked deed they try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to the nations as you did this time in history:

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

In October 1984, I was in Jerusalem, when the Heavens opened up with such RAIN as I had never seen. It was during Sukkot, and it had not rained in Jerusalem in over nine weeks. Water rushed off the housetops in great torrents, like waterfalls, flooding the streets with water faster than the drains could absorb it. Instead of running indoors to escape the Deluge, the Israelis, young and old, held hands and ran into the street, dancing and singing, "Mayim, Mayim, Mayim!" (Water, Water, Water!). It reminded me of Gene Kelly Singing in the Rain!
The Autumn Rains are late this year, and a vicious fire rages out of control in Carmel.
Come and Pray for the Latter Rain to Come at last to Drench that area and bring relief.
(A side note)To many believers, the Latter Rain is Symbolic of the Outpouring of The Holy Spirit in The Last Days. Also a Good Thing To Pray For!)

I worked on Kibbutz Tsora in Bet Shemesh and on another above Haifa that same year. My favorite place of worship was the Baptist House in Jerusalem. I left in early October and missed that rain you talked about. I wish I never left.
I pray and hope the rains come!

Thank You, Dogbert41, for Your Prayers For The Peace of Jerusalem! We stayed at Kiryat Shemona that year in the Kibbutz there! There was another Forest Fire in the hills over Kiryat Shemona caused by rockets during the '06 war. I was VERY upset at the time, because I had planted some trees there with my own hands.

Attend to my cry, ..." __________________________________________________________ Deuteronomy 8:6-10 3. (6-10) Blessings in the land for Israel. Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you. ..." ___________________________________________________________Gracious Heavenly Father, Israel needs Help, Thy Help. Show yourself mighty and majestic. Bring peace to Israel, Jerusalem, persecuted believers: they are surrounded, they are out numbered, they are fighting daily the hard fight ... they need Thy Grace and mercy and forgiveness. Father forgive them they know not what they do ... reach down and bless them this day, in Thy loving kindness. Thank Thee, LORD for the beauty and the challenge of today. amen.
